These are a real oddity. Most people have never heard of Mali green garnet since it gets dwarfed by the tsavorite from Kenya. Back in the mid 1990s I got a bit of this material right from a distiguished old Mali gentleman who came right off the plane to my house. Turns out I knew his grandson here in Denver.
